SSTI: U.S. R&D spending and intensity by state, 2006-2011


In a recent blog article, SSTI reports the spending and intensity of U.S. research & development from 2006 to 2011. During this five year period, U.S. total R&D investment grew by 23.37 percent. California, in addition to ranking near the top of the list of R&D-focused states, leads in total R&D spending. In 2011, the state's spending reached $91.4 billion, accounting for more than one-fifth all U.S. research investment. Other high-ranking states include Massachusetts, Texas, Maryland, and New York. 

New U.S. Cluster Mapping Policy and Impact Study: Oregon


Developed as part of the U.S. Cluster Mapping Project, Mobilizing Oregon Clusters: Private and Public Sector Partnering for Economic Growth is the first in a series of four Policy and Impact Studies. It is designed to share experiences and lessons regarding cluster development from Oregon Business Council, a non-profit business membership organization comprised of the state’s largest and most established companies. 

Oregon's plan to pioneer jobs and innovation


In 2005, the Oregon Business Plan launched the Oregon Industry Cluster Network to identify Oregon's mature, emerging, and potential industry clusters and assist cluster participants as they work to accelerate innovation and the growth of their industries.
