The Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing (RCBI) is a recognized national model that has provided the support system for more than two decades to businesses, manufacturers, researchers, inventors, entrepreneurs and government agencies. RCBI has the latest design and engineering technology, manufacturing, machining and fabrication services, supply chain connections and workforce training programs. RCBI operates Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centers in Huntington, Charleston and Bridgeport, West Virginia.
Launch NYÍs mission is to identify, support and invest in high-growth, high-impact companies and catalyze the entrepreneurial culture of Upstate New York through regional collaboration with ecosystem partners.
The Innovation Engine Accelerator is a 10-week boot camp established for new digital media companies. The Accelerator provides expert advice and guidance from both seasoned mentors and Executives-in-Residence. Housed in Ohio University's innovation Center, participating companies are provided with software and hardware. In 2012, six companies participated with five receiving $20,000 in startup funding. Much of the value of the program comes from the expert advice, business training and networking opportunities.
