Originally the Boulder Innovation Center, the Innovation Center of the Rockies efines a new model for business incubation across key industry sectors holding the most promise for the community, global economies and the environment. The industry sectors supported include clean technology, engineering, bioscience, IT/software, aerospace, and natural & organic foods.
The East Central Council of Local Governments (ECCOG) was created in the early 1970's as a voluntary association of county commissioners, mayors and town council members in Cheyenne, Elbert, Kit Carson and Lincoln counties, who joined hands to keep governmental decision-making at the local level. ECCOG is not another layer of government; there are no COG program or activities undertaken without first obtaining the advice from a variety of citizen advisory groups and from the local governments, nor without formal approval of the governing board. ECCOG has no taxing authority.
The Southern Colorado Economic Development District is a non-profit organization whose membership is the twelve counties of Southeastern Colorado. Our primary focus is to provide economic development planning and technical assistance to the twelve member counties.
The combined efforts of elected officials, businesses, staff, and representatives from a cross-section of the Valley who participate in the SLVDRG and its programs are continuing to maintain and open up vital funding links for Valley projects. A $9.763 million business loan program with over 775.5 jobs recorded, and Enterprise Zone tax credits for eligible projects and investments averaging close to $1.35 million per year are examples of the SLVDRG contributions.
Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado, Inc. (Region 9 EDD) is a Colorado non-profit community economic development corporation that promotes and coordinates economic development efforts throughout Southwest Colorado. Our board of directors is comprised of 26 directors, 17 members from local government agencies throughout the region and nine members that represent the private sector in our five county area.
The Colorado Photonics Industry Association (CPIA) is an association of industrial, university, and government entities involved in research, development, and/or the sale of products or services that involve photonics technologies. CPIA provides both a united front to promote the Colorado photonics industry throughout the world as well as a forum for collaboration and education of its members.
